Cancel Halloween This Year? Never!
Ghostly Greetings MI families! Trick or treating and celebrating this year might look a little different but nothing will keep our MI community from having a fang-tastic fun night for all ages! Park your brooms at our virtual zoombie party where kids will be encouraged to speak Mandarin and have a bloody good time with us!
Who: All families, including current and prospective families, kids of all ages, elementary, middle and high school

Planning Ahead – Chinese New Year
There is no such thing as too much preparation especially when it’s our biggest event of the year! Even though Chinese New Year is not until February 2021, the planning has begun and we need YOU. Join a fun group of motivated parents to bring an entertaining show to life for our community.
Next year’s event will be an all new virtual “Variety Show” and we are looking for:
CNY T-Shirt Design Submissions: please submit a design that incorporates an original image of the Ox, Happy New Year 2021 in traditional Chinese, DragonSprouts.org or the DragonSprouts logo by November 15
Raffle Donations Items: gift cards, goods, services, volunteers to solicit raffle items from businesses
Video and Sound Editors: all levels, from professional to MI parents and older MI students (8th grade and up) comfortable with iMovie or other editing programs. We need help editing together 3-to-5 minute videos during December and early January.

NEW – Chinese Music Ensemble
We are thrilled to announce DragonSprouts-sponsored Chinese Music Ensemble; we cover tuition, you rent the instruments!
Who: K-8 students
What: Dizi (Chinese flute) or Hulusi (gourd flute)--$30/yr; Erhu (Chinese fiddle)--$60/yr (covers insurance, maintenance, accessories). Classes are taught in English with Mandarin terms introduced in each lesson, as related to a song's lyrics or theme.
When: Tuesdays 3-4pm
Where: Zoom
How: Register by emailing olivia@santamonicayouthorchestra.org no later than October 27 to join.
